Breakfree on Cashel

Located in the heart of Christchurch city’s central district, this pre-existing hotel was purchased after suffering considerable damage during the Christchurch earthquakes. The structure of the building needed restrengthening with aspects that were extensively damaged requiring rebuilding.

Utilising the existing hotel layout we strengthened the structure of the building and created modern accommodations throughout. The most damage in the building was seen on the top floor of the hotel, this was an opportunity to reconfigure the level into suites that the hotel had never offered prior.
