Adina Apartment Hotel

The Adina Apartment Hotel was an opportunity to convert double living apartments into a hotel with spacious living in the heart of the city. The complexities involved turning dual storey apartments into two single level hotel rooms and structural challenges in this project led to complex seismic strengthening being completed to strengthen the large podium, basement carpark and connections up into the hotel building above.

After purchasing a large percentage of apartments from the individual previous owners, smart engineering was used to provide tensile strength between columns, including new shear walls and new brackets at weak joints. Creating a new walkway inside the hotel atrium provides easy access to additional floors once the stairs were removed and filled in. The result is modern spacious apartment living, with the benefits of a full hotel service, steps away from the city’s best offerings.
